MONDAY (B, D): CAPRI AND ANACAPRI
When the red sun sinks at Capri... Today is a highlight on the program: by boat you will arrive at magical island of the sirens, which inspired and still inspires an endless number of artists. Visit of Anacapri with the possibility of the a visit at Villa San Michele. In Capri you can have a walk from the Piazza to the Gardens of August, which offer an unique view of the Faraglioni rocks and the rugged south cost of the island. In the afternoon free time to explore the beautiful island on your own. Possibility to visit the much-sung Blue Grotto (weather permitting). In the afternoon back to Sorrento for dinner and overnight.
TUESDAY (B, D): AMALFICOAST
Free time for leasure or opt to book an optional excursion to the Amalficoast.
The Amalficoast is one of the most spectacular coastlines of Europe. The winding road, surrounded by rocks, offers breathtaking panoramic views. You will get fantastic and unforgettable impressions. We stop in Positano, another jewel of this coast, for a photo stop. Then continue on to Amalfi, the town, after which the coast is named. Once it was a rich and powerful maritime republic and now it represents the major tourist resort. In the cathedral are kept the tombs of the saint patron of Amalfi and also of St. Andrew of Scotland. Continuation to Ravello with the possibility to visit Villa Rufolo (Entryticket extra). Otherwise you can spend your time walking or just to relax and enjoy your time in the area of Sorrento. Overnight.
WEDNESDAY (B, D) POMPEI - SALERNO – MESSINA
Departure from the hotel towards Pompeii. Pompeii is for it's visitors of the greatest fascination. After the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii lay buried and forgotten for centuries under the lava. The excavations, which already begun in 18 th century, still go on today. Our guide will lead you through some of the ancient streets, where you can see Baths, Forums and villas which were built by wealthy Romans in 80 BC. It is nearly unbelievable how good the fabulous frescoes that adorn the walls and floors of the villas have been preserved. Continuation to the port. Departure at about 14:00 o'clock to Sicily. Arrival at about 22 o'clock*. Transfer to hotel, cold dinner and overnight.*seats reserved (poltrona).
THURSDAY (B, D) ETNA - TAORMINA
In the morning excursion to Mt. Etna, the higest peak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the vulcan constitutes the “Park of Etna”, one of the largest protected areas in Italy: You will be astonished about the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “ Silvesti Craters” (about 1.900 mt). From here on you will have the option to continue the excursion by jeep. Stop at a local beekeeper to taste quality honey and to see how he is produced. In the afternoon visit of Taormina, situated on a rocky plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, Possibility, to visit the Greek-Roman theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily. Overnight.
FRIDAY (B, D) TAORMINA MARE – NOTO - SYRACUSE
Full day excursion to Noto and Syracuse. Noto, jewel of Sicilian Baroque, is in the UNESCO world heritage list for its beautiful baroque churches and "palazzi". The visit goes through the historical centre of the town and reaches the main monuments like the cathedral, the Santa Chiara church, Palazzo Ducezio and the Via Nicolaci, famous road for the yearly Infiorata-flower festival. On to Syracuse, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of the island. Guided tour at the Archeological Park, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the Cave of the Cordari, Island of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral. Overnight in Taormina area.
SATURDAY (B) TAORMINA MARE
Depart at any time. Opt to continue the holidays in Sicily or come back to Sorrento.
