Agrigento

Provincia d’origine di due grandi autori italiani del XX secolo, Luigi Pirandello e Leonardo Sciascia, Agrigento è una provincia ricca di storia e cultura. Tra le innumerevoli cose da vedere la spettacolare Valle dei Templi, gli scavi archeologici di Eraclea Minoa e di Sant’Angelo Muxaro.

Palermo

La provincia con “il più bel promontorio del mondo”, è quella della Conca d’Oro, quella in cui visse Federico II con la sua Corte e in cui si diffuse la Poetica della Scuola Siciliana, Palermo luogo dove tutto è natura, arte, cultura e storia.

Catania

Catania è una provincia ricca di natura e cultura in cui poter ammirare il maestoso paesaggio del Parco del Monte Etna, le ceramiche di Caltagirone, e il barocco di Militello Val di Catania, e dove poter gustare i pistacchi di Bronte.

Taormina

È uno dei centri turistici internazionali di maggiore rilievo della Sicilia per il suo incantevole paesaggio naturale, le bellezze marine e i suoi monumenti storici.

Cefalù

Cefalù viene citata per la prima volta dallo studioso Diodoro Siculo nel 396 a.C. ma la città si distingue per la sua impronta tipicamente medievale. Partendo da piazza Garibaldi e proseguendo per corso Ruggero fino alla splendida piazza del Duomo già si comincia a gustare l'atmosfera splendidamente intatta di questa perla del mediterraneo.

Siracusa

Pantalica, la Valle d’Anapo, Palazzolo Acreide, Noto, Avola, Vindicari sono soltanto alcuni dei luoghi da visitare in questa bellissima provincia. La città conserva oggi tantissime testimonianze del passato visibili all’interno del parco archeologico e nell’isola di Ortigia, nucleo originario della città.

Ragusa

Ciò che affascina di questa provincia è il ricchissimo patrimonio archeologico (Cava d’Ispica, Monte Cassia, Camarina sono solo alcuni dei siti) ed architettonico (Ragusa Ibla e Modica) Situata a sud dei Monti Iblei tra i corsi dei fiumi Ippari ed Irminio, la città si distingue in due nuclei: Ragusa Superiore e Ragusa Ibla.

Enna

Splendida provincia, conosciuta in tutto il mondo per i mosaici di Piazza Armerina e per il lago di Pergusa, splendido luogo naturalistico in cui, secondo un antico mito, Plutone rapì Proserpina.

Caltanissetta

La “terra dei castelli” è tra le province siciliane quella più lontana dagli itinerari turistici tradizionali, ma è sicuramente un luogo dove poter riscoprire e conoscere le tradizioni e la cultura del passato.

Messina

La provincia delle leggende e dei miti dell’eroe Ulisse, la provincia delle isole Eolie. Situata sulla costa occidentale dello Stretto di Messina, il suo nome più antico è Zancle (termine dorico siculo che significa falce ed è riferito alla forma della penisola di San Ranieri).

DAY 1 - SUNDAY:  ARRIVAL – WELCOME TO SICILY                    
Arrive in Catania from Riga by Airbaltic flight. After having collected your luggage, meeting with your tour leader and departure to Taormina area. Arrival at the hotel (the room will be ready after 14.00). Free time to discover the surrounding of the hotel or to go for a swim on your own. Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 2 - MONDAY: MONDAY:  EXCURSION TAORMINA
Breakfast in the hotel. This day you are free to relax and explore the city or go for a swim on the beach on your own or opt to join our half day excursion Taormina in the afternoon.
OPTIONAL EXCURSION TAORMINA: € 29
In the afternoon Transfer to Taormina. As you walk and discover the amazing town of Taormina, hear tales about the history and the evolution of Sicilian culture. Pass by beautiful old buildings, including the 15th-century Palazzo Corvaja and an ancient Roman theatre the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily (Admission fee €10 not included). Discover the medieval area of the town with its narrow strest and old shops. Re-entry at your hotel. Dinner and Overnight. 
 
 DAY 3 – TUESDAY: CATANIA AND SIRACUSA
Breakfast in the hotel. This day you are free to relax and explore the city or go for a swim on the beach on your own or opt to join our full day day excursion Catania and Siracusa
OPTIONAL EXCURSION CATANIA AND SIRACUSA: € 57
Departure to Catania by Bus for a walking tour through the streets into Catania’s UNESCO-listed historical center with its Baroque palazzi and amazing monuments. Before hopping on the bus, visit of the open-air fish market, famous for its particular colours. Continuation to Syracuse and meeting with our local guide to discover one of the most interesting archaeological sites of the island with its Archeological Park (Admission fee €10 not included), the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the Cave of the Cordari We will then visit the  Island of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral. Re-entry in hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and Overnight. 
 
DAY 4 – WEDNESDAY: ETNA 
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to the Mt. Etna, the highest peak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the volcano constitutes the “Park of Etna”, one of the largest protected areas in Italy: You will be astonished about the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “Silvesti Craters” (about 1.900 mt). Hop out of your coach at the base station Rifugio Sapienza, and then enjoy roughly three hours at leisure to trek independently around the foothills of Mount Etna. The area is covered with hiking trails that zigzag in all directions, and your host will happily point you in the right direction for the Monti Silvestri Craters – two small, yet impressive, craters near the base station. On request and at extra cost (€60 not included), instead of spending three hours at leisure to trek independently around the foothills of Mount Etna, there is the possibility to get Mount Etna’s summit (3000 mt) by cableway and jeep with alpine guide.
Return to Taormina and after meeting your driver, departure to Messina port. Enjoy the 30 minutes journey through the Strait of Messina and departure to Tropea where you arrive in the late evening. Dinner and overnight
  
DAY 5 -THURSDAY:  LOCRI AND GERACE
Breakfast in the hotel. This day you are free to relax and explore the city or go for a swim on the beach on your own or opt to join our full day day excursion Locri and Gerace
OPTIONAL EXCURSION LOCRI AND GERACE  € 50
Departure to Gerace - the city of a hundred churches. This ancient medieval city presents to our attention the ancient churches of this area. Visit the Cathedral of the Norman era - one of the largest in Calabria. The small town is an important cultural and tourist center. The historical part is located between the Tribunal Square (piazza Tribunale) and Tocco Square (piazza Tocco). On the Tocco square you will be astonished by old buildings of the XIX century, belonging to the local nobility. We will then head to Locri.
The ancient city of Locri is 3 km far away from the modern city. The very first city of Locri was founded by the Greeks who founded the colony of Locri Epidzefiri. To this day, there are archaeological finds, as well as the ruins of sanctuaries, the walls surrounding the city and the theater. In the archaeological zone of the museum called  "Antiquarium" (Antiquarium), many interesting specimens of the Greek period are stored. Re-entry to the hotel.

DAY 6 -  FRIDAY: ZUNGRI
Breakfast in the hotel.
This day you are free to relax and explore the city or go for a swim on the beach on your own or opt to join our full day day excursion Zungri and tasting of typical products
OPTIONAL EXCURSION ZUNGRI AND TASTING OF TYPICAL PRODUCTS € 35
This excursion will let you know the Calabrian countryside Departure to Zungri,  a municipality situated about 571 metres from sea level on the north slope of the plateau of Poro. Zungri is one of the most interesting of the agricultural centre of this area. Its historical centre  is characterized by simple architectures and it represents a social model of peasant life, which is developed in the time, but it still keeps some aspects of poor building. Here  we will visit a small family farm, which produces small quantity of onion, nduja (typical salami from Calabria), wine, cheese and vegetables. Typical products tasting with the possibility to buy them. After visiting the hospitable farm you will see of the Caves of Zungrì and the Church of Our Lady of the snow.

DAY 7 – SATURDAY: SCILLA AND REGGIO CALABRIA
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to Scilla and Reggio Calabria.
Departure to Scilla, the characteristic little town in the enchanting scenery of the Costa Viola. Here you will visit the old fishing village which is known as Chianalea. The second stop is Ruffo Castle and St. Rocco’s church. After you will go to Reggio Calabria, an elegant city in Liberty style, which belongs to the Italian Art Nouveau period.
Here you will also visit the National Archeological Museum which holds the richest collection of Magna Grecia finds and the Bronzes of Riace. Then you will take a walk on the seafront promenade which was defined by Gabriele D’Annunzio as “The most beautiful kilometre in Italy” and then you will visit the Roman Baths, the Greek walls and the cathedral. Free time for shopping.
Transfer to Villa San Giovanni to take the ferry to Messina.
Dinner and overnight in Taormina/Catania area.
 
DAY 8 – SUNDAY: TOUR OVER AFTER BREAKFAST
Breakfast in the hotel. Check out at 10:00. This morning you are free to relax and explore the city or go for a swim on the beach on your own. Transfer to Catania airport. Departure to Riga. Grazie e arrivederci!
