Agrigento

Provincia d’origine di due grandi autori italiani del XX secolo, Luigi Pirandello e Leonardo Sciascia, Agrigento è una provincia ricca di storia e cultura. Tra le innumerevoli cose da vedere la spettacolare Valle dei Templi, gli scavi archeologici di Eraclea Minoa e di Sant’Angelo Muxaro.

Palermo

La provincia con “il più bel promontorio del mondo”, è quella della Conca d’Oro, quella in cui visse Federico II con la sua Corte e in cui si diffuse la Poetica della Scuola Siciliana, Palermo luogo dove tutto è natura, arte, cultura e storia.

Catania

Catania è una provincia ricca di natura e cultura in cui poter ammirare il maestoso paesaggio del Parco del Monte Etna, le ceramiche di Caltagirone, e il barocco di Militello Val di Catania, e dove poter gustare i pistacchi di Bronte.

Taormina

È uno dei centri turistici internazionali di maggiore rilievo della Sicilia per il suo incantevole paesaggio naturale, le bellezze marine e i suoi monumenti storici.

Cefalù

Cefalù viene citata per la prima volta dallo studioso Diodoro Siculo nel 396 a.C. ma la città si distingue per la sua impronta tipicamente medievale. Partendo da piazza Garibaldi e proseguendo per corso Ruggero fino alla splendida piazza del Duomo già si comincia a gustare l'atmosfera splendidamente intatta di questa perla del mediterraneo.

Siracusa

Pantalica, la Valle d’Anapo, Palazzolo Acreide, Noto, Avola, Vindicari sono soltanto alcuni dei luoghi da visitare in questa bellissima provincia. La città conserva oggi tantissime testimonianze del passato visibili all’interno del parco archeologico e nell’isola di Ortigia, nucleo originario della città.

Ragusa

Ciò che affascina di questa provincia è il ricchissimo patrimonio archeologico (Cava d’Ispica, Monte Cassia, Camarina sono solo alcuni dei siti) ed architettonico (Ragusa Ibla e Modica) Situata a sud dei Monti Iblei tra i corsi dei fiumi Ippari ed Irminio, la città si distingue in due nuclei: Ragusa Superiore e Ragusa Ibla.

Enna

Splendida provincia, conosciuta in tutto il mondo per i mosaici di Piazza Armerina e per il lago di Pergusa, splendido luogo naturalistico in cui, secondo un antico mito, Plutone rapì Proserpina.

Caltanissetta

La “terra dei castelli” è tra le province siciliane quella più lontana dagli itinerari turistici tradizionali, ma è sicuramente un luogo dove poter riscoprire e conoscere le tradizioni e la cultura del passato.

Messina

La provincia delle leggende e dei miti dell’eroe Ulisse, la provincia delle isole Eolie. Situata sulla costa occidentale dello Stretto di Messina, il suo nome più antico è Zancle (termine dorico siculo che significa falce ed è riferito alla forma della penisola di San Ranieri).

SATURDAY:  ARRIVAL                                  
Arrive in Taormina area at any time. There are no planned activities so check into our hotel and enjoy the city. At the hotel reception you will find a information brochure. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
(*) All customers who have booked an individual transport service (at extra charge), will meet our taxi driver at the airport arrivals with a sign displaying their name that will bring them to their hotel.
 
SUNDAY:  SAVOCA – CEFALU’  - PALERMO
Breakfast in Hotel. Breefing with the tour guide and departure to Savoca where chosen by Francis Ford Coppola as location to shot the film “The Godfather”. On to Cefalù to visit this lovely medieval town and its famous cathedral, one of  the most beautiful in Sicily, founded by Ruggero II, the first King of  Sicily. The cathedral of Cefalù, and some monuments of the Normann period of Monreale and Palermo are acknowledged as a UNESCO heritage site in 2015. Continuation to Palermo. Arrival at the hotel in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight. 
 
 MONDAY:  MONTEPELLEGRINO and MONDELLO  - Optional PALERMO - MONREALE
Breakfast in hotel. Visit of the Teatro Massimo, the third biggest opera theatre in Europe. Then we enter the popular market “Il Capo”, that looks like an African souk; at the end of the visit of the market we will taste in a bar the typical Sicilian “Arancino”, a speciality of the local street food. At this point guests can choose to leave the group for individual activities or to take part to the optional guided tour of Palermo (€ 35 per person), regional capital of Sicily. We will start the visit from the old part of the city with the Cathedral, the Royal Palace and the Palatine Chapel. Proceed to Monreale,  famous because of its Cathedral with Byzantine mosaics representing Christ Pancreator and its cloister. After exploring the town with your guide or at leisure, both groups meet back at a prearranged point to hop on the coach.
In the afternoon excursion to Monte Pellegrino and Mondello. Monte Pellegrino, with its spectacular views of the city, its surrounding mountains and the ocean and the sanctuary of Saint Rosalia (the patron of the city) was once described as the most beautiful promontory in the world by Johann Wolfgang Goethe. Continuation to the small fishing village Mondello with its marvellous beach, where you will taste a typical Sicilian sweet. Dinner and Overnight. 
 
 TUESDAY:  ERICE – MARSALA - AGRIGENTO
Breakfast in the Hotel. Departure to Erice, the medieval town on the summit of Monte San Giuliano. Here in your guided tour you can admire the Norman Castle and the Cathedral. In the meantime you will have a stop at a confectionery to taste the typical almond pastry of Erice. On to Marsala, famous because of the salt works (foto stop) and the production of wine (wine tasting in a winery).  Dinner and overnight at hotel in Agrigento area.
 
 WEDNESDAY:  AGRIGENTO – PIAZZA ARMERINA – TAORMINA MARE
Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning drive to Agrigento and with your guide you will visit there the Temple Valley, where you can admire the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Concorde (one of the best preserved Doric temples in the whole Greek world), the Temple of Hercules and the Temple of Castor and Pollux. After that on to Piazza Armerina where you will have a short break for tasting some typical Sicilian food, like olive paté, olives, marmalades and wine. You will visit the Villa Romana del Casale, famous for the most beautiful collection of late-Roman mosaics. On to Taormina beach, where you will arrive in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.
 
THURSDAY:  ETNA  - TAORMINA
Breakfast in the hotel and guided excursion to the Mt. Etna, the highest and most active volcano of Europe. The territory surrounding the Vulcan is the “Park of Etna”,  one of the  largest protected areas in Italy: you will be astonished about the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “ Silvestri Craters” (about 1.900 mt). From here on you will have the possibility to continue the excursion by jeep. Stop at a local beekeeper for a honey- and wine tasting. In the afternoon visit of Taormina, situated on a plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, dominating the Ionian coast from Capo Sant’Andrea to Capo Taormina. Possibility to visit the Greek-Roman theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily. Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. 
 
FRIDAY:  CATANIA AND ORTiGIA ISLAND IN SYRACUSE – Optional: Archaeological park in Syracuse
Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion. First stop in Catania, that lies on the slopes of the Etna, rich in baroque buildings; visit of the typical fish market and walking tour of the city centre. Proceed to Syracuse, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of the island, in which we will explore the historic centre in Ortigia Island, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral.  At this point guests can choose to leave the group for individual activities or to take part to the optional guided tour of the archaeological park of Syracuse (€ 30 per person + € 10 entrance fee), including the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus. Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
 
SATURDAY:  DEPARTURE
Breakfast is provided, but there are no group activities today. (*). You can depart at any time (**). Grazie e arrivederci!
(*) Rooms must be left before 10:00 am. You can bring your baggage with you or you can leave it in the storage room of your hotel for free. On request and at extra charge, it is possible to keep the room until late afternoon.
(**) Customers who have booked a transfer to the airport (at extra charge), will meet our taxi driver at the reception of the hotel.
