Agrigento

Provincia d’origine di due grandi autori italiani del XX secolo, Luigi Pirandello e Leonardo Sciascia, Agrigento è una provincia ricca di storia e cultura. Tra le innumerevoli cose da vedere la spettacolare Valle dei Templi, gli scavi archeologici di Eraclea Minoa e di Sant’Angelo Muxaro.

Palermo

La provincia con “il più bel promontorio del mondo”, è quella della Conca d’Oro, quella in cui visse Federico II con la sua Corte e in cui si diffuse la Poetica della Scuola Siciliana, Palermo luogo dove tutto è natura, arte, cultura e storia.

Catania

Catania è una provincia ricca di natura e cultura in cui poter ammirare il maestoso paesaggio del Parco del Monte Etna, le ceramiche di Caltagirone, e il barocco di Militello Val di Catania, e dove poter gustare i pistacchi di Bronte.

Taormina

È uno dei centri turistici internazionali di maggiore rilievo della Sicilia per il suo incantevole paesaggio naturale, le bellezze marine e i suoi monumenti storici.

Cefalù

Cefalù viene citata per la prima volta dallo studioso Diodoro Siculo nel 396 a.C. ma la città si distingue per la sua impronta tipicamente medievale. Partendo da piazza Garibaldi e proseguendo per corso Ruggero fino alla splendida piazza del Duomo già si comincia a gustare l'atmosfera splendidamente intatta di questa perla del mediterraneo.

Siracusa

Pantalica, la Valle d’Anapo, Palazzolo Acreide, Noto, Avola, Vindicari sono soltanto alcuni dei luoghi da visitare in questa bellissima provincia. La città conserva oggi tantissime testimonianze del passato visibili all’interno del parco archeologico e nell’isola di Ortigia, nucleo originario della città.

Ragusa

Ciò che affascina di questa provincia è il ricchissimo patrimonio archeologico (Cava d’Ispica, Monte Cassia, Camarina sono solo alcuni dei siti) ed architettonico (Ragusa Ibla e Modica) Situata a sud dei Monti Iblei tra i corsi dei fiumi Ippari ed Irminio, la città si distingue in due nuclei: Ragusa Superiore e Ragusa Ibla.

Enna

Splendida provincia, conosciuta in tutto il mondo per i mosaici di Piazza Armerina e per il lago di Pergusa, splendido luogo naturalistico in cui, secondo un antico mito, Plutone rapì Proserpina.

Caltanissetta

La “terra dei castelli” è tra le province siciliane quella più lontana dagli itinerari turistici tradizionali, ma è sicuramente un luogo dove poter riscoprire e conoscere le tradizioni e la cultura del passato.

Messina

La provincia delle leggende e dei miti dell’eroe Ulisse, la provincia delle isole Eolie. Situata sulla costa occidentale dello Stretto di Messina, il suo nome più antico è Zancle (termine dorico siculo che significa falce ed è riferito alla forma della penisola di San Ranieri).

SATURDAY (D):  TAORMINA AREA                 
Arrive in Taormina area at any time. There are no planned activities so check into our hotel and enjoy the city.  Clients will find an informative brochure at the hotel reception. Overnight.
 
SUNDAY (B, D):  CASTELBUONO - CEFALU’ - PALERMO 
Breefing with the tourguide and departure to Castelbuono, a charming town that was formed in the 14C around the castle built by the Ventimiglia family, a massive square construction with square towers, which has undergone many alterations over the years. On to Cefalù to visit this lovely medieval town and its famous cathedral, one of  the most beautiful in Sicily, founded by Ruggero II, the first King of  Sicily. The cathedral of Cefalù, and some monuments of the Norman period of Monreale and Palermo are acknowledged as a UNESCO heritage site in 2015. Continuation to Palermo. Arrival at the hotel in the afternoon. Overnight.  
 
 MONDAY (B,D): PALERMO - MONREALE – Optional: MONTE PELLEGRINO - MONDELLO
Half-day guided tour of Palermo, regional and provincial capital of Sicily.  We will start the visit from the old part of the city with the Royal Palace, the Palatina Chapel and the Cathedral. Afterwards we will visit Monreale famous for its Cathedral with Byzantine mosaics figurating Christ Pancreator and its Cloister. In the afternoon you can visit Palermo on your own or you can opt to book the  optional excursion to Monte Pellegrino and Mondello.
Monte Pellegrino, with its spectacular views of the city, its surrounding mountains and the ocean and the sanctuary of Saint Rosalia, the patron of the city was once described as the most beautiful promontory in the world by Goehte. Continuation to the small fishing village Mondello with its marvellous beach, where you will taste a tipical Sicilian sweet between a cono-icecream or a cannolo or a cassatina and enjoy the freetime. Back to the hotel for dinner and Overnight.  
 
 TUESDAY (B,D):  ERICE –SELINUNTE - AGRIGENTO
Visit of  Erice, the medieval town on the summit of Monte San Giuliano. Here we can admire the Norman Castle and the cathedral. Stop at a bakery shop to taste the typical almond pastry of Erice. Continuation to Trapani, the ancient Dreapanum, with his medieval district situated on the headland pointing out to the sea.  In the afternoon visit of the archaeological park of  Selinunte that contains the ruins of the temples and the Greek Acropolis. On to Agrigento. Overnight.
 
 WEDNESDAY (B,D): AGRIGENTO – PIAZZA ARMERINA – TAORMINA BEACH
In the morning visit of Agrigento and guided tour of the Valley of Temples, where you can admire the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Concorde, one of the best preserved doric temples in the whole greek world, the Temple of Hercules and the Temple of Castor and Pollux. Continuation to Piazza Armerina in the afternoon including a short break to have a tasting of typical Sicilian food like olive paté, olives, marmelades and wine. Guided tour of  the Villa Romana del Casale,famous for the most beautiful collection of late-Roman mosaics. Continuation to Taormina beach. Overnight.
 
THURSDAY (B,D):  TAORMINA  MARE - ETNA  - TAORMINA
In the morning excursion to Mt. Etna, the highest peak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the volcano constitutes the “Park of Etna”,  one of the  largest protected areas in Italy:  You will be astonished about the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “ Silvestri Craters” (about 1.900 mt). From here on you will have the option to continue the excursion by jeep. Stop at a local beekeeper to taste quality honey and have a winetasting and to see how it is produced. In the afternoon visit  of Taormina,  situated on a rocky plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, dominating the Ionian coast from Capo Sant’Andrea to Capo Taormina. Opt to visit the Greek-Roman theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily. Overnight. 
 
FRIDAY (B,D):  TAORMINA MARE – NOTO - SYRACUSE
Full day excursion to Noto and Syracuse. First stop in Noto to discover the beautiful baroque in Sicily. On to Syracuse, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of the island. Guided tour at the Archeological Park, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the Cave of the Cordari, Island of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral. Re-entry in hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight.
